Additional camp workshops may be added, upon request and demand. Enrollment is restricted to small groups at the Denver Chess Academy camp workshops in order to maximize the learning experience. Call before sending in application to make sure your desired camp date is not filled up. For application form, call 303-770-6696 (home).

All Denver Camp Workshops run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., are held in the Denver Tech Center area, and cost $165 per child. A few parents may also be allowed to attend Camp Workshops. Cost for parent attendees is $115. All participants will receive a copy of Teaching Chess in the 21st Century, Chess Workbook for Children, or Chess Strategy Workbook.

Bring your own lunch; food will not be provided. Camp workshop instruction includes lecture and chess play time, while Todd helps give tips to improve play and reinforce lessons.

Skill levels:

Beginner - Learning the basics. For students who are brand new to chess or have played a little bit, with no formal instruction. Older children (typically second grade or older), who pick up material quickly in beginner camp workshops may advance to the Intermediate level at the next available session.

Intermediate - For students who know the chess basics (call Todd for specific qualifications) or participated in a Beginner camp workshop. Younger children, first grade or younger, may benefit from taking the beginner camp workshop twice, before moving up to the Intermediate level. Advanced, young students,  may move to the Intermediate camp workshop after taking the Beginner camp workshop only once. Check ability level with Todd.

Because chess is a very broad subject, different chess concepts and examples will be taught at Intermediate camp workshops so that students may attend different Intermediate camp workshops and still receive maximum benefit and continuing chess instruction without duplication.

Intermediate/Advanced - This special camp workshop is for rated players and typically older players who excel in their Intermediate camp workshop groups.
